Supply and installation of a fully integrated 660 kVA emergency standby diesel generator system for a fire station in Canberra.
This project came with some strict requirements, including:
- Reduce the noise to just 45 dB(A) at 5.5 metres
- Include a 1,000 litre double-skinned fuel tank
- Comply with Australian safety & environment regulations
- Mesh screen to protect the generator from any hot embers for bushfire protection.
We needed an innovative solution to meet the requirements, so we turned to ADE Power Australia. They designed and manufactured a custom acoustic enclosure for us, meeting all requirements. They worked with us to install the generator & equipment into the enclosure, and complete the fit-out of the mechanical & electrical systems.
We’re very happy with the end result, and it meets all requirements. The generator & enclosure were installed at the station, with site acceptance testing confirming its performance. This is a great example of how every project has it’s own specific challenges, and how tailored solutions can be engineered to overcome those challenges.
